Welcome to the Business and Finance Department

The Pawtucket School Department's Business and Finance Department welcome's you to our web page.  The Department consists of employees who perform all the accounting functions of the school department along with many other responsibilities.  They include budgeting, payroll, personnel, employee benefits, 403(b) annuities, employee attendance, Medicaid reimbursement, purchasing, billing, union negotiations, substitute teacher assignments and working papers.

It is the mission of the Business and Finance Department to provide accurate and reliable financial reporting to the School Committee, Auditors, R.I. Department of Education and the General Public as well as assist employees throughout the school district with business matters.

  • New AFSCME Local 1352 Contract Ratified

    New AFSCME Local 1352 Contract Ratified

     

     

    A new contract agreement has been reached by both the union and the School Committee and ratified by the City Council, the agreement was effective January 1st. The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) represents the school department's 'non-certified' employees, including Teacher Assistants, Clerks, School Maintenance and Custodians.
