New Elementary Report Cards
The Pawtucket School Department has aligned their elementary report cards to reflect the standards and skills that students are learning in the classroom. Teachers focus on collecting evidence that demonstrates that students are meeting the standards in Reading, Writing, Language, Math, and Speaking & Listening.

Below, you will find a copy of the Powerpoint slides from the informational sessions held for parents on November 25, 2014 and December 2, 2014.  The presentation contain links to the videos shown during the presentation.

The first video can be found at the Common Core website http://www.corestandards.org.  This website is the home of the Common Core State Standards and contains a lot of information about the Common Core, its implementation, and links to other sites that may be of interest.

The second website contained many videos showing grade by grade what some of the standards look like in practice.  That site can be found at http://milestones.greatkids.org/.

The National PTA also has some great information about the Common Core expectations.  You can find that information at http://www.pta.org/parents/content.cfm?ItemNumber=2583.
