š History ›

In 1992, the Pawtucket School Department was selected by the Regional Laboratory for Educational Improvement of the Northeast and Islands to be Rhode Island's representative in their Mentoring Resource Project. This pilot project was one (1) of six (6) programs in New England and New York.

The program has grown from a one-year voluntary support system to a three-year commitment, guaranteed by contract agreement.

The program expanded in 1997 to include the Veteran Newcomers' Support Group to support teachers as they transfer to new assignments.
